Subjective value increase
- Real value is easy to maintain
- A well-kept appearance is important
- Happy at first impression
If you feel your property could use a beauty treatment due to organic dirt such as moss and algae, that’s already a very good reason for a roof cleaning service.
A well-kept appearance brings you a lot of joy and also gives a sense of increased value.
Treat yourself and those around you to the sight of a sustainably cared-for roof.

Objective value preservation
- Minimise risk of damage
- Avoid costly repairs
- Postpone necessary re-roofing
Property owners are often surprised by the value preservation that comes from removing moss, algae and other green growth from a roof. Potential damage risks and costly harm to your roof can be effectively reduced. Water and moisture stored in the roof’s growth can lead to cracks in roof tiles. Timely removal of moss from the roof will significantly delay the need for repairs or even re-roofing (Advisor | 1×1 Cleaning vs. re-roofing). This way, you can protect the value of your property with simple and cost-effective measures.

Better without
high pressure -
Roof cleaning – better without high pressure
- Easily save thousands of litres of drinking water
- 0% risk of damage from high-pressure cleaners
- Cost-effective results through self-cleaning effect
While high-pressure cleaners can be effective at removing deposits and moss from roofs, low-pressure cleaning is the better choice for most applications – especially with the MossService24 method.
In terms of cost efficiency, labour time is reduced because the cleaning agents continue to do the work after application. There’s also no need to worry about costly follow-up repairs, as low pressure causes no damage to roof tiles, roofing membranes, separating layers or other materials. Even small existing damage on the roof is not a problem – low-pressure misting beats high-pressure jets when it comes to safety (Advisor | 1×1 High pressure vs. low pressure).
Professional, eco-friendly cleaning with low pressure has many advantages – particularly for older or more delicate surfaces – and is especially kind to your budget.
-
Even longer-
lasting results -
Roof impregnation – even longer-lasting results
- Extend roof cleaning intervals by years with ease
- Natural resin-based ingredients
- Sensible roof impregnation without pre-treatment using a high-pressure cleaner
An additional layer of protection for your valuable roof delays regrowth by several years. On average, you can enjoy around 9 years of peace of mind.
Similar to a coloured coating or sealant, this gives you even more time before the next cleaning is needed. However, with the two methods mentioned, a high-pressure roof cleaning must be carried out beforehand. Our impregnation service is tailored to the MossService24 method and therefore spares you the unwanted use of a high-pressure cleaner.
A recommended additional service for years of worry-free property ownership.

The MossService24 method –
simple & hassle-free for your roof
Once you’ve decided on “Gentle, eco-friendly roof cleaning – yes or no?” or whether to remove moss from your roof at all, the next question is whether the method is suitable for your home.
-
Suitable for almost
all roof types -
“At roofs with a gutter height of over 8 metres (eaves height), we only require the additional use of a cherry picker or a mobile work platform.”
- All classic roof types
- Safe access
- Use on flat roofs
Only a flat roof excludes you from treatment by our cleaning team. The natural removal of dried moss and other dead growth by wind and rain unfortunately does not work with this roof type.
Every gable roof, hip roof, mono-pitch roof or lean-to roof offers optimal conditions for our roof cleaning service. Due to their design, gentle cleaning can be successfully and naturally completed by the weather.
All types of dormer roofs, half-hipped roofs and clerestory roofs also provide excellent conditions for using the MossService24 method.
This additional service is usually required for parallel roofs, sawtooth roofs or valley and cross roofs. For you, it’s easy to book this with us as part of our service – we simply organise your all-inclusive package.
-
Suitable for any
roofing material -
“If we can treat asbestos roofs, your roof will certainly benefit from our special process too.”
- All common roof tiles
- Metal roofing
- Also for thatched roofs
We don’t really know of any roof surfaces that are problematic for our method – but feel free to surprise us with your unique roofing. We’re always happy to discover new and interesting applications on different materials.
The MossService24 method is even ideally suited for natural roof coverings such as thatched roofs, slate, clay tiles and bitumen shingles.
For any type of roof tile, the risk of damage is reduced by 100%. Even with minor existing damage to individual tiles, the low-pressure application is gentler on your roof than any heavy rainfall. This also avoids possible follow-up damage caused by the jet impact of high-pressure cleaners or accidental mishandling.
Whether your roof is made from concrete tiles, cement tiles, fibre cement panels, metal, sheet metal or copper, we provide an environmentally friendly and thorough cleaning solution for your home.

When is roof cleaning worthwhile?

That needs to go
from the roof -
That needs to go from the roof
- Moss
- Algae
- Lichens
- Green growth
- Mould
Over time, you may notice unsightly discolouration caused by algae and moss growth, or even mould. An unattractive layer begins to spread across your roof. Once this process starts, organic growth multiplies increasingly quickly. Moss removal is particularly recommended (Advisor | 1×1 Hidden dangers). If thick moss cushions have already formed, it’s not too late – but an additional manual pre-treatment will then be essential.
“The forces of nature can’t be stopped forever. We want to work with them – gently, but with a clear goal.”
The MossService24 method reliably removes moss and algae from roofs. At the same time, all other organic contaminants, such as lichens and green growth in general, gradually dissolve. Soot particles and fine dust disappear depending on the surface condition.

Gentle low pressure is our way of removing unwanted moss from roofs. You’ve already learned why we work on your home without high-pressure cleaners – saving water, preserving value, preventing damage and much more.
We develop our own cleaning solution for removing dirt, algae and moss from roof tiles. This allows us to reduce material costs during production while ensuring the quality of the ingredients and the optimal application of the formula.
“Our performance duo MS24 ImmoShield PURE and MS24 ImmoShield GUARD – perfect for your roof cleaning without high pressure.”
The colourless roof impregnation for roof coating works perfectly with our roof cleaner and the MossService24 method. We use natural, resin-based ingredients. This gives your roofing material effective protection while keeping it breathable.

How does
ImmoShield PURE work -
How does ImmoShield PURE work
Organic growth does not feed on your roofing material but clings tightly to it in order to draw nourishment from directly accessible rainwater. Our self-developed cleaning solution takes advantage of this natural behaviour for your roof cleaning.
The unwanted green growth perceives the application of ImmoShield PURE as a welcome source of nourishment and absorbs it completely. However, our formula then causes it to slowly dry out from the inside, reaching even the finest capillaries – elegantly outsmarted. The biological self-cleaning effect begins.
“Our special formula works as simply as it does effectively, using biological principles.”
Excessive regrowth of algae, lichens and moss is effectively prevented for up to 5 years. You can therefore consider another cleaning treatment from around 10 years onwards without concern. If you have higher standards, we’ll be happy to take care of your home again sooner.

How does
ImmoShield GUARD help -
How does ImmoShield GUARD help
Your roof is gradually regaining a well-kept appearance and regrowth is effectively delayed. Roof impregnation with ImmoShield GUARD further extends this effect to around 9 years.
As this impregnation is specially developed as an additive for ImmoShield PURE, the additional protection can be applied to your roof in the same work step. This saves costly labour time and brings peace and quiet back to your home more quickly.
“A coating with our roof impregnation is simply sensible, given the easy balance between effort and benefit.”
The impregnation is applied so that it penetrates through the fine offshoots of the growth into the pores of roof tiles and other organic roofing materials. The growth itself transports the impregnation before it dries out. The disinfecting effect of the roof impregnation is also suitable for metallic roofing materials. You don’t need to worry about discolouration during application.
This roof impregnation will reliably extend the time until your next roof cleaning to 15 years. If you want to stop regrowth sooner, we’ll be ready to help in good time.

Frequently asked questions
Do you also offer roof coating, sealing and painting?
The prerequisite for these services is high-pressure cleaning. In addition, in many municipalities changing the roof colour is not permitted by local authorities. We strongly recommend checking this in advance before commissioning such work.
Since MossService24 rejects high-pressure cleaning for many reasons, we cannot offer these additional services.
As a complement to the MossService24 low-pressure method, however, we offer an effective impregnation with “ImmoShield GUARD”. This extends the beauty of your roof in its original colour, which gradually reappears after the action time of our gentle cleaning agent ImmoShield PURE.
PS: Roof tile manufacturer Braas generally advises against roof coating. Rathscheck Dachsysteme allows coating of fibre cement but states that slate roofs should only be cleaned. (Manufacturer information from online sources)
How much does roof cleaning cost?
The cost depends on the size of your roof area.
MossService24 fixed prices are never exceeded afterwards.
For roofs over 350m² and for multi-family houses, we are happy to provide you with an individual fixed-price quote.
The costs for our service packages are 100% transparent. Simply carry out a quick cost check.
When should you have your roof cleaned?
Moss and algae can be a pleasant sight in nature, but when they appear on your roof, it’s time to take action.
If rainwater no longer drains properly, water will collect in the affected areas. In the worst case, this water can seep under the roof shingles and cause long-term damage to your building.
If moss and lichens grow into the roof tiles, they should be treated, as frozen water stored in the moss during frost can crack the tiles.
We recommend removing moss and algae promptly before they spread further, to prevent damage to the roof. Whether you need our professional help or prefer to tackle it yourself – one thing is certain: “Removing moss from your roof is advisable – it should be dealt with in time!”

How often is roof cleaning necessary?
How long a roof cleaning lasts unfortunately also depends on the location of your property. On trade websites, you’ll read about intervals from 2 years to several years – with the biological MossService24 method, you can usually expect several years before the next treatment is needed.
On average, after treatment with ImmoShield PURE, it takes around 6 years before regrowth appears. With additional impregnation using ImmoShield GUARD, you can extend this period by approximately 50%.
In general, roofs should not be treated too often. While roof cleaning is far cheaper than a complete re-roof, it still carries some risk of damage. With the MossService24 method, you eliminate the main risk factor – “damage from high-pressure cleaning” – entirely. However, we still recommend keeping the intervals between roof cleanings as generous as possible.
Will I disturb my neighbours with a roof cleaning?
With the MossService24 method, you don’t need to worry about that.
By using low pressure instead of high-pressure equipment, you completely avoid any noise disturbance. In addition, the removed growth is not blown into the air, and there is no spray mist that could drift onto neighbouring properties.
Alongside these treatment benefits, our cleaning fleet also completes the necessary manual work quickly and efficiently. An average roof treatment, including preparation and finishing, takes around 2–3 hours with our low-pressure method. The long-lasting cleaning effect (and optional impregnation) then works quietly in the background through our cleaning products ImmoShield PURE (and optionally ImmoShield GUARD) over the following weeks and months.
Can I clean my roof myself?
It’s good that you’re thinking about regular roof cleaning.
Yes, it is possible to clean your roof yourself. It just requires some preparation and safety measures. Make sure you are familiar with recommended safety precautions and obtain appropriate protective equipment (gloves, safety glasses and non-slip shoes).
DIYers often choose high-pressure cleaners to remove dirt. The correct technique and appropriate machine pressure are important to avoid damaging the roof (always follow operating manuals and instructions exactly).
If your roof is affected by moss or algae, you should also use specialised cleaning products. Again, it’s essential to follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid damaging your roof materials or surrounding vegetation.
If you’re unsure whether you can carry out the roof cleaning yourself, we’ll be happy to provide you with a worry-free quote. Our quick enquiry form is the best way to take this first step.
